I officially have the mid winter blues. It probably wouldn’t be too bad if my foot wasn’t still bothering me and I could get out of the house more often, however; it has been so damn cold in the New York that I am going to have to buy Miss Allie some boots to get her through the rest of the winter. She loves to play outside but I think sometimes it really bothers her feet.

There is nothing exciting going on this year either, this year is about getting work done around the farm and getting bills paid so that we can take a vacation to France next year to visit some of Gary’s family. We are so excited about going. I’m excited about just getting our passports.

Miss Allie is such a bright light in my life. She has is off to the vet next week to be spade (which I am having mixed feelings about. I have never been able to have children, and I would love her to. That’s probably kind of weird) and have a couple dew claws removed and I am already sad that she is going to be gone for a couple of days. I thought I would share some of the things that we love about her for the fun of it.

Here goes…

  • The way she moans in my ear as she is falling asleep
  • The way she cuddles on your lap (even though she is getting way to big to)
  • The fact that everytime she gets a drink of water I have to refill the water dish because the pump starts running
  • The way she has to kiss you for five minutes when you get home, it just feels good to have some one be so happy to see you
  • The way her tail starts hitting me at 3 in the morning because she is so excited because she hears her daddy coming home
  • The fact that she has her own little bag of honey nut cheerios at grandma’s
  • She never smells like a dog
  • Her droopy lips and wrinkles
  • The way her butt wiggles when she wags her tail
  • She can cover an acre of land and glide over the ditch within 3 seconds and then right before she gets to you, she turns sideways and body slams you, and then heads back
  • The way she plays with the cats
  • and snuggles with Simba

  • When she shares her bone with you
  • Or makes you hold her rawhide so she can chew it
  • When I find cleaned out catfood cans all over the house, especially in our bed
  • While I’m picking up all her toys at night and putting them back in her toy box she is taking them back out
  • Her DRAMATIC Yawns

I could go on and on but I won’t bore you but my one final thing I love about Miss Allie Mae is

  • The way she has made herself daddy’s little girl

Last summer I emailed McCormick about their products.  I received a very informative email back that day.  This past week I received a letter from them, this is what it said:

“We recognize that gluten is the common name for proteins in specific cereal grains that are harmful to persons with Celiac Disease.  These proteins are found in all forms of wheat (including durum, semolina, spelt, kamut, einkorn and faro), and related grains, rye, barley, and tritcale.  When gluten or wheat is present as an ingredient, McCormick will declare it in the ingredient statement.Since the late 1990’s, McCormick has used ‘Plain English” allergen labeling to communicate our product ingredients to our consumers.  Gluten is listed as “wheat” in our ingredient statements.  This labeling policy adheres to the FDA regulations that were implemented as of January 1, 2006.If a product does not have an ingredient statement, it is a pure spice or herb with nothing added and contains no added glutens.  In addition, the alcohol in all of our retail extracts is not from grain and is gluten free.  Because we are constantly improving our products, we do not offer a list of our products that do not currently contain glutens.  We encourage you to read the ingredient statement on your package at the time of purchase to ensure accurate, up to date information.”I use a lot of the McCormick marinades in the summer time and it is great to know that they are a company you can trust.

I missed National Pancake day this year because I seem to still think this is 2007. Pancakes are one of my favorites since going Gluten Free and I don’t know about anyone else but we seem to eat more pancakes now that I am Gluten Free then we ever did before. Our favorite is Pamela’s Pancake and Baking Mix and I add a little cinnamon to it topped with homemade maple syrup. Yumm!

I have put together some other favorites. If I have missed anyone please let me know and I will post them.

Melanie has tagged me.  Actually I have also been tagged by Natalie and by Jennifer to which I apologize to for not getting to.

Well, here is how it works: I am supposed to list 7 random things about myself, post the rules, then link back to the person who tagged me a nd then tag 7 more bloggers.

Here’s the rules:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.

2. Share 7 random or weird things about yourself.

3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.

4. Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Here goes:

  1. I am a procrastinator.  I am terrible.  I put everything off to the last minute.  I was hoping this would change in 2008 but I am already procrastinating.
  2. I  love books.  I read everything.  I always have a book with me.
  3. My first car was a 1978 Green Ford Pinto with no shocks in it.
  4. I am obsessed with plucking my eyebrows.
  5. I am a TV junkie.   I do not care for reality TV but recently I have been hooked on “The Real Housewives of Orange County” on Bravo.  My favorite show is Brothers & Sisters on ABC.  I really hope that the writers strike ends soon.  I am going through withdrawal.
  6. My most embarrasing moment is once I glanced at a newpaper headline at work and that I thought said “Hunters Group eats Deceased Deer“  well I grabbed the paper went into my bosses office holding up the paper and said “Of Course They Are Eating a Deceased Deer”.  It actually said “Hunters Group eats Diseased Deer.”  He is never going to let me live it down. (He even has a copy of it in my employee file).
  7. I was voted most daring in my senior year.  Though to this day I am still not sure why.  So the next day I skipped school with the boy that was voted along with me and spent the next three days in in-school suspension.  Not the brainiest thing that I ever did but I did have fun.

And now I tag:
