We took Miss Allie to the doctor today and she has an infection in her feet, so she is now on antibiotics for a week. Other than that she is ready to go hunting with her dad.

Bugaboo Creek

I turned 37 on Sunday. I can’t believe it 3 more years to the big 40. Friday and Saturday here is New York was just a series of nasty storms. One minute it was snowing so hard you couldn’t see 2 feet in front of you and the next this was freezing rain. Sunday though turned out to be a beautiful day, so Gary and I got into the truck and headed out of town. We spent the day in Rochester, I wanted to check out Lori’s Natural Store and just spend the day together. The store I was semi impressed with. The store itself is huge but I can’t really say I was overly impressed with the Gluten Free selection.

For lunch we headed over to Bugaboo Creek. I did some research before we went and discovered they had a pretty impressive gluten free menu. I enjoyed half a roasted chicken and the best mashed potato’s I think I have ever had. For any one with kids, your kids would love this place. They have animals all over the place that pop up and talk to you. There were kids giggling all over the restaurant. I would love to take my nephew Camdyn up there. He would love it.

It turned out to be a wonderful birthday, though Gary came home with all the goodies. I came home with a spatula. It was a wonderful day though. I wish we had more time to just take off, just the two of us. It gives us time to reconnect and forget about all our worries. (Though we did have to call home and check on Allie, her feet are still recovering from surgery and we are off to the vet tomorrow just to have them checked). Allie ended up with a hunting cap, I will post those pictures soon.

A Beautiful Day but I’m getting Old

Today was gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous. The sun was shining and it got up to 60°. Allie is recuperating nicely from surgery. Both of her back legs are bandaged and we have to keep Glad “Press N Seal” on them in order to keep them dry when she goes outside. She is so good about letting us put it on and take it off, and she doesn’t pick at it. She barely has an incision on her tummy. If I ever have a hysterectomy I want her doctor to do it.

But of course what started out as a great day turned. First my orthopedist is making me have a nerve test on my hand before he does surgery. Thankfully he felt bad for me and prescribed a Valium for me. The last nerve test I had done 8 years ago was bad enough and my hand wasn’t nearly as bad as it is now. Than I go to the eye doctor and he tells me that my eyes are getting “Tired”. (At least I didn’t have to have bifocals yet).

And of course Gary is with me through all of this and his eyes are just fine. I feel like he should go out and and shoot me some-days. Isn’t that what they do to “Old Mules”?

On Sunday, I made to wonderful deserts. They were so good that Gary wanted me to make more ice cream tonight, I really hope he’s not too upset when he gets home from work and there isn’t any. They are both light and full of wonderful flavor. I hope you enjoy them.
