This is completely off the subject however; I found this article on how to deskunk your dog and thought I would share it with you. (I’ll try this out tonight when I get home on my cat and let you know how it works)
How to Deskunk Your Dog
from wikiHow - The How to Manual That You Can Edit
The tomato juice bath didn’t work, so how do you get the stink off your dog who just got sprayed by a skunk?
Steps
- Mix ingredients (see below).
- Rub mixture into the affected areas of your dog’s coat.
- Let sit for 7 to 10 minutes.
- Rinse the dog.
Tips
- Don’t try to wash the dog with anything else first. The chemicals in the skunk spray are activated by water, and will have the dog smelling even worse.
- Don’t try to store the stuff. It works because of a reaction between the two main ingredients, and the pressure builds up.
- After you have used the mix to deskunk your pet, you may use your regular pet shampoo.
Warnings
- Keep the stuff out of the dog’s eyes.
- This may lighten a dog’s fur (my black dog turned gray).
- Wear gloves if you have any cuts or scrapes on your hands.
Things You’ll Need
- 1 qt. hydrogen peroxide
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 2 tsp dish washing detergent

OH NO… did your cat get skunked????
Oh yea! It’s always one of the four animals. Well three really, Simba is only allowed out on a leash. You can’t really smell it unless you get close to him but it just seems way to early when you figure how much snow we still have and it’s below zero every night.
hi! just wanted to mention that I’m doing a post about favorite gluten free food products on absolutely not martha. I’d LOVE to hear what yours is–just leave me a comment (if you haven’t already).
