I am once again completely gluten free!!!! I have not been following the diet for about a year now which has not bothered me medically at all.   I know it is bad for me though so here I go again…

I have a couple of new recipes to try out this weekend and will hopefully have them posted next week.

Stay tuned.

    Good luck!

I feel absolutely horrible when I eat gluten, which makes it pretty easy to avoid it. I’m not sure I’d be able to stick with it if I didn’t have the yucky feedback. (Trace amounts = 3 days of migranes and intestinal pain. A bowl of real pasta = 10 days of living heck.)

I also really shouldn’t have milk (I’m allergic to it or something) but I have small amounts of it all the time, because the effects aren’t nearly so bad!

Sometimes it can be very difficult. I had a baby not to long ago and I was dedicated to living entirely GF for the entire pregnancy. Ya right. I couldn’t eat anything and one day a McDonalds burger sounded so good. I gave in and guess what I DIDN’T get sick. That is the worse thing ever because then I felt I could eat some once in a while. As soon as I gave birth I thougth I would try it again. Can I say STUPID! I got so sick . All I can do is forgive myself for the mistakes and hope that none of the food did damage to my sweet little baby. Now I have been following it to a T. She could not handle it also while nursing. So that was another kick in the bud. We all have slip ups but we have to be diligent.

I can completely understand where you are coming from. I do not get an immediate reaction when consuming gluten either. I was diagnosed in July of 2003 and have been on and off the diet more times than I can count. Each time saying “it doesn’t matter” until recently, going back on I realized how much better I really DO feel but emtionally, I am still not okay w/being gluten free. If presented with a nice soft gluteny bagel I probably go through about a dozen emotions the average person does not. It sucks. I hate it.

But now I have a 1.5 year old and was solidly gluten free for my entire pregnancy and entire first year. That is almost 2 years solid, longer than I have ever lasted.

I am recently back on the gluten free band wagon myself and trying really hard to make it life long now.

Thanks for keeping this blog up. It really helps those of us looking for products and support. I have been GF almost 2 years and still struggle. Think I can go off then back to square one.
